Thirst Responders

We all know what it’s like working in the NHS, there’s too much to do and too little time within which to do it. Staff are often overwhelmed to the point that caring for themselves becomes a secondary priority over the care they need to deliver for patients.

The executive team at Croydon University Hospital recognise how hard their staff work and have a Thirst Responders trolley which is manned by senior members of staff who go to different parts of the Trust handing out beverages to whoever needs them.

There are clearly a finite number of people who they can provide drinks to at any one time, but then again, it’s the thought that counts! In the picture above, it is Croydon’s Chief Nurse Elaine Clancy who is handing out drinks to colleagues 🙂
